Librarycraft

Minecraft is a ‘sandbox’ game offering players almost limitless possibilities in an almost limitless world. Stirling Libraries have now joined with City of Fremantle, and other public libraries to offer Librarycraft, a safe, secure, moderated online environment for Minecraft players aged 7 - 17.

There are weekly competitions and prizes, but players also:

  • Strengthen their social, creativity and teamwork skills whilst learning to solve problems together
  • Learn about resource management and basic economics through the in-built Economy system
  • Build on all of the STEAM skills, science, engineering and maths with coding and redstone creations.

hoopla is a digital media service that allows library members to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows. Online or through an app, hoopla delivers a catalogue of over 900,000+ titles that are available to be streamed or downloaded immediately - no holds or wait time.

Loan information

  • Borrow up to 4 instant borrows per month
  • Loan period differs according the format borrowed
    • 21 Days for eBooks, eAudio, eComics and Graphic Novels
    • 7 days for Music
    • 3 days for Movies and TV episodes.
  • Library card number and an email address is needed to create an account.

Kanopy Kids offers an on-demand video streaming service for children aged preschool and up: A curated selection of educational and enriching videos with developmentally appropriate, age-based ratings from Common Sense Media™. 

Categories include TV Series, Learning Languages, Animated Storybooks, Anime and Movies for the whole family.

KidSpeak is designed for children to explore, play and learn languages at home or on the go.  KidSpeak has engaging learning activities to teach children French, Spanish, German, Italian, Mandarin or English.

LOTE Online for Kids allows kids to enjoy the magic of picture books in various languages alongside English translations, helping to develop reading and listening skills.  Over 65+ languages including Arabic, Cantonese, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Mandarin, Farsi, Portuguese, Spanish, Tamil, Vietnamese and Urdu to support culturally and linguistically diverse families.
