Mayor Mark Irwin encouraged everyone to get to a local market and enjoy the atmosphere and community connection.
“We have markets all over the City of Stirling now and it's fantastic to see that growth because they bring the community together,” Mayor Irwin said.
“There’s so much that keeps us looking at our screens these days, and I think people enjoy getting out of the house and being in a vibrant community setting like a market.
“Many of these markets promote a more sustainable lifestyle, and they can play a key role in activating public spaces that might be underused.
“Another big benefit is that when you’re shopping at these markets, you’re buying local and you’re supporting local growers and businesses.”
The City is supporting a range of community markets and other initiatives in 2024/25 through its Community Grants Program.
