Hundreds of residents joined the Bowlo Banter event across Stirling, sharing ideas on how to potentially enhance their local bowling clubs and foster community belonging.

Hundreds of residents participated in a night of community spirit, held simultaneously at all 10 bowling clubs across the City of Stirling.

The Bowlo Banter event, on Wednesday 26 February 2025, involved locals and members sharing ideas on bowling over barriers to attending and enjoying their local clubs.

More than 200 people provided input or used stickers to vote on their top priorities, with options including improving facilities, incorporating new bowls programs or sports, and hosting new community events.

Many also joined in a game of social bowls and enjoyed their club’s menu or a sausage sizzle.

The Mayor, Councillors and the City's staff were on hand to get the conversations rolling and, most importantly, to listen.

The aim was to hear advice about how we can work together so that everyone can feel a sense of belonging at their local club.

This coordinated event was part of the Everyone Belongs community engagement initiative, which seeks to get to the heart of what it means to belong in the City of Stirling.

Input could help remove barriers to belonging not only at bowling clubs but also inform the City’s new Access and Inclusion Plan and Public Health Plan.

You can still get involved by completing the City’s Belonging Survey.
