Pedestrian safety upgrades set to begin on West Coast Drive
Work is set to start to improve pedestrian safety on West Coast Drive between Karrinyup Road and Beach Road.
Work is set to start to improve pedestrian safety on West Coast Drive between Karrinyup Road and Beach Road, with the installation of three raised pedestrian crossings and vehicle speeds to reduce to 40 km/h.
The raised formalised crossings will be installed at the following locations:
Bennion Street, Trigg
Between Sholl Avenue and Saunders Street, North Beach
Elsie Street, Waterman’s Bay (near Little Bay Cafe).
To minimise impact to traffic and pedestrians, the work will be carried out at night between 7.00pm – 5.00am. Traffic management will be in place when required for the duration of the project for the safety of residents, construction workers and road users. The work is scheduled to be completed over eight weeks.
