City of Stirling residents will soon receive the City’s 2024/25 Waste and Recycling Guide

City of Stirling residents will soon receive the City’s 2024/25 Waste and Recycling Guide, as a handy reference guide to place on your fridge and refer to through the year.

For the next three weeks, the guide will be distributed across the City to highlight the waste and recycling services available and encourage the community to bin litter and recycle correctly.

The guide outlines how to dispose of common household items, hazardous waste, garden organics, recyling, general waste, green waste verge collection, on-demand collection services and information about the City’s Recycling Centre Balcatta.

New information has been added to the guide to help residents better understand the waste and recycling process and answer some common questions. In response to community feedback, the City has included a ‘When is my bin day?’ section, where residents can scan the QR code to quickly find the next scheduled collection for each bin, as well as the next green waste collection for their area.

Residents will find a ‘What happens next?’ section on the red, green and yellow-bin pages explaining what happens to the contents of each bin after collection. In addition to our green-top bin service, the City offers a green-waste verge collection and a collection map, indicating collection dates by area, can be found in this year’s guide.

The Waste Guide outlines the free on-demand collection services and skip bin hire available to City of Stirling residents. Each financial year, each property can utilise services for the collection of electronic waste, mattresses, white goods as well as a free skip bin hire. These services aim to make waste management more convenient and efficient.

The guide also highlights an infographic with tips on bin placement to ensure easy access and collection by our waste trucks.
