Mettams Pool

Mettams Pool is located off West Coast Drive, north of Trigg Beach and is a natural rock pool protected by a surrounding reef.

The pool is the perfect location for swimmers due to its calm water. It is the perfect location for a wedding ceremony.

Booking FAQs

The city does not take bookings for playgrounds, tables, gazebos, or BBQ areas in the reserves or on the beaches. These areas are public and available on a first-come, first-served basis

Bookings for reserves are only necessary under specific conditions:
 
•    If more than 100 people will be in attendance.
•    If an entertainment company (e.g. party pony, petting zoo, bouncy castle, or laser tag) or food business will be present.
•    If structures larger than 3 x 3 meters (e.g. tents, arbours, or marquees) need to be set up.
•    If you are a business charging customers / client, e.g. Personal Training, or selling tickets.
 
If your event does not meet any of the above criteria, you are welcome to use the reserve and its amenities without charge. 

Yes, you are allowed to access the park or beach for loading and unloading. However, once you've unloaded, all vehicles must be parked in the designated car park.

We do not provide power or water. You will need to bring your own generators and/or water on the day.

Please note: It is an offence in Western Australia for persons of any age to drink in public, such as on the street, park or beach.

PENALTY: $200 infringement or maximum $2000 fine.

The city does not issue permits to drink alcohol at reserves or beaches.

If you make a booking to have a ticketed event where alcohol will be supplied or sold, a liquor licence must be obtained.

Yes, however, please ensure no waste is left on the grounds

Rice, confetti, or similar materials are not permitted to be thrown on any beach or reserve. However, fresh flower petals are acceptable as they are biodegradable.

Helium balloons must not be released on parks, reserves, or beaches and must be anchored down.

Decorations such as arbours, chairs, trestle tables, and marquees are considered infrastructure and require a booking.

Yes, you can set up a marquee, but you will need to provide size details to the Facility Hire Officer, and it may require a booking. Marquees and portable beach shelters smaller than 3 x 3 square meters do not need approval.

Food trucks are permitted to park on the reserve or beach but are only allowed in reserve carparks. Food trucks are not permitted to set up in beach carparks.

Yes, however you will need to provide a copy of the public liability insurance on the submission of your application for.

Yes bins are provided in all our public spaces however if you require extra bins, please submit an enquiry via the City of Stirling website.

Yes, however if you are photographing / filming for commercial or marketing purposes, you must seek approval for a permit. This is subject to conditions and a fee will apply.

The city has two designated drone flying areas:
 Hertha North Reserve, Stirling and Yokine Regional Open Space West, Yokine.
 
The City does not issue permits for drone use, we simply require the pilot to fly according to CASA Regulations.

You must be a member of the respective club or association to utilise these reserves and must fly in accordance with the CASA regulations.

Flying over populous areas such as beaches, heavily populated parks, or sports ovals while they are in use is not permitted.

We do not take bookings for carparks and cannot guarantee parking will be available for the food truck or coffee van.

A booking grants you permission to hold your activity at a City of Stirling location, but it does not reserve the area for you.

Yes, there is lighting/floodlighting on some of our reserves; however, approval from the City's Active Communities team is required.

Each area has its own specific requirements. Please follow the signage posted around the local areas 

We review this on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the city noise regulations. For further details, please refer to the city's noise guidelines.
