In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 the City provides public notice for various matters that may affect the community, including the review of local laws, disposal of property, road closures and local government elections, amongst others. Public notices give our residents, local businesses and customers an opportunity to provide feedback and enquire about the matters at hand.

Notice of Intention to Make a Local Law

Notice is hereby given, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon the City of Stirling by the Local Government Act 1995, of the intention of local government to make the following local law:

City of Stirling Shopping Trolleys Local Law 2025

Purpose:

This Local Law intends to:

(a) Regulate the removal of shopping trolleys from shopping precincts

(b) Require retailers providing shopping trolleys to ensure their prompt collection and return

(c) Provide the local government with powers to impound shopping trolleys that are left in contravention of this local law, and

(d) create offences and penalties for breaches of this Local Law.       

Effect:

This Local Law applies to all land in the local government.   

This local law may be inspected, and copies obtained from the City’s Administration Office, 25 Cedric Street, Stirling or from www.stirling.wa.gov.au/trolleyslocallaw.

Submissions must be made online at www.stirling.wa.gov.au/trolleyslocallaw or in writing by 5.00pm, Thursday 13 March 2025 to:

Notice of Disposition of Property

The City of Stirling hereby gives notice in accordance with Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995 of the proposed disposal of property by sale as described below.

Property: 23 Milldale Way, Mirrabooka – Lot 504 Deposited Plan 406386 being the whole of the land on Certificate of Title Volume 2952 Folio 611.

Vendor: City of Stirling.

Purchaser: Landmark WA Pty Ltd.

Consideration: $950,000 exclusive of GST.

Market value: $810,000 - $884,000 inclusive of GST as at 17 December 2024.

Submissions in respect of the proposed disposal of property are to be made to the Chief Executive Officer before 5.00pm, Tuesday 4 February 2024. Submissions should be in writing and marked “Submission: 23 Milldale Way, Mirrabooka”. Submissions may also be made by email to propertyservices@stirling.wa.gov.au.

Notice of Proposal to Lease Property

The City of Stirling hereby gives notice in accordance with Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995 of the proposed disposal of property by way of a lease; as described below for an initial term of three years with a three year option.

Property: Approximately 1,500m², portion of Lot 50 on Diagram 49995, more commonly referred to 20 Castle Street, North Beach, WA 6020

Lessor: City of Stirling

Lessee: C Sea Solutions Pty Ltd (Trading as Uluu)

Consideration: Commencing rent of $165,000 (plus GST) per annum plus outgoings

Market rental: $155,000 (plus GST) per annum as ascertained by a licensed valuer on 20 December 2024.

Submissions in respect of the proposed disposal of property may be made to the Chief Executive Officer before 5.00pm, Monday 17 February 2025. Submissions should be in writing and marked “Submission: 20 Castle Street”.

Notice of Electors’ General Meeting

In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 and the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, electors are invited to attend the 2023-2024 Electors' General Meeting for review of the contents of the Annual Report incorporating the 2023-2024 Annual Financial Statements and any other general business.

The meeting will be held on Monday 24 March 2025 at 6.00pm at the City of Stirling Administration Centre, 25 Cedric Street, Stirling.

The Electors' General Meeting Agenda and the Annual Report incorporating the 2023-2024 Annual Financial Statements are available from via the City’s website at the following links:
