Summer school holidays 2025
Summer holidays are the perfect time to discover all the wonderful things our the City has to offer. Explore the curated list of free and low-cost activities below to help you make the most of the summer school holidays. Whether you're looking for outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, or family-friendly fun, there's something for everyone. Don't forget to tag us @cityofstirlingwa.
- Connect with history, nature and culture on the new Lake Gwelup Story Trail
- With 7.5km of stunning coastline there is a beach for everyone, catch a wave at Scarborough, go snorkelling at Mettams, take a walk along the coastal path, check out the skate park or simply watch the world go by at Scarborough Beach
- Get active at the new Mirrabooka outdoor basketball courts
- Head off on a walk through on of our bushland trails, or visit Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre for a nature-based experience close to home
- Discover your new favourite playground – check out the recently upgraded playgrounds at Joondanna Reserve and Rickman Delawney Reserve in Balcatta
- Visit one of our skate and BMX facilities.
- For something a little more relaxed, why not visit one of our Stirling Libraries, where it’s nice and cool. You can use our free Wi-Fi, browse our extensive catalogue, find a cosy corner to read a book or magazine or sign up to one of the fun school holiday activities on offer
- Check out your local shopping centre, they often have free school holiday activities on offer for kids
- If you are in Inglewood you can also visit the popular Inglewood Creature Trail and find all of the monsters!
- Fancy a dip? We have three public pools at Balga, Inglewood and Scarborough. Casual entry fees apply. Over the summer holiday period you can also have some fun on our pool inflatables, available at:
- Inglewood Pool – Sundays from 11.00am – 1.00pm from 15 Dec to 23 March 2025
- Scarborough Beach Pool – Sundays from 10.00am – 12.00pm from 5 Jan through to16 March 2025.
- Coastal Explorer - enjoy a bus ride along the coast from Scarbrough to Hillarys on this hop on, hop off service
- The Stirling Miniature Railway in Balcatta are running two sessions over the school holidays – check out their website for more information and to book your spot

Keep the kids busy over the school holidays with our sports programs, arts and crafts programs or our mini and teen chef classes! Each program provides quality coaching for your child, so they can learn in a fun and supportive environment.

Sports programs
Our sport classes are run by qualified and experienced coaches. Get Active in the holidays and come join us for some fun on court. This program is for children aged 5 until child turns 12.
Mini and teen chef program
Kids can get cooking and learn basic kitchen skills these school holidays with our mini chef program. Take home a plate of food cooked during the class and the recipe - so it can be recreated at home! Please note children with allergies or dietary requirements may not be suitable for this program. This program is for children aged 6 until child turns 13
Arts and crafts program
Children can get creative in our arts and crafts programs. Design, decorate, and have fun creating something special with guidance from our instructors. Take home the instructions with your child's unique creation for future inspiration. This program is for children aged 6 until child turns 13.
