Western Australia’s largest local government has a new Chief Executive Officer, with Stevan Rodic taking over the reins today.

Western Australia’s largest local government has a new Chief Executive Officer, with Stevan Rodic taking over the reins today.

The City announced Stevan Rodic as the incoming CEO in August 2023, and he was succeeded as Director Planning and Development by the City’s own Amanda Sheers in late November.

Mayor Mark Irwin said the change marked an important turning point in the City’s history.

“The City of Stirling is excited to begin 2024 with a new CEO at the helm,” he said.

“Stev has the heart and the capability to steer the organisation into the future and achieve our vision for our community.

“Stev is Team Stirling through and through – to his bones – with a long history of service to our community. He started with us on the City’s front counter, helping residents and businesses with their planning applications.

“As he rose through the ranks from planning coordinator, to manager and then director, Stev has never lost that focus on the personal impact we have on people we serve.

“Stev takes the reins at an important moment in the City’s development; several practical elements of our bold vision for the future are due to be delivered in 2024, including Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre redevelopment project, the Stephenson Avenue Extension Project, the Trackless Tram business case, and a new Local Planning Scheme.

“As we begin 2024, Council has full confidence that Stev will lead Team Stirling through whatever challenges may come and deliver upon our vision of becoming a sustainable City with a local focus.”

New CEO Stevan Rodic said he was honoured to lead the City into a new era of prosperity and sustained success.

“The driving force behind everything I do is a love for the City – for the people who work here in the organisation itself, as well as the people that live and work here in our community,” he said.

“The employees of the City of Stirling are passionate and committed to excellence in public service, and I am proud to lead them into 2024.

“My message to our residents and ratepayers is that we are committed to do better each and every day, with your success and wellbeing at the heart of every action we take.”
