New multimillion-dollar headquarters for Stirling SES

16 January 2025

Stirling SES is expected to move into the new headquarters ahead of the 2025 storm season.

Stirling State Emergency Service (SES) has a new multimillion-dollar facility to call home in Osborne Park.

The facility, on a 2,000sqm property in the Osborne Park industrial area, features a 950sqm administration building, two warehouses and 24 parking bays.

The City of Stirling purchased the property with $2.7 million in State Government funding provided through the Department of Fire and Emergency Service (DFES).

The City then managed the renovations with $227,750 in City funding and another $300,000 from the State Government.

Stirling SES is expected to move into the new headquarters ahead of the 2025 storm season.

The central location of the new site, which was chosen in close collaboration with Stirling SES and DFES, gives the SES volunteers convenient access to major roads to reduce response times.

It marks a significant upgrade for the Stirling SES unit, which has been operating out of two separate buildings in Nollamara since the 1990s.

City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said he was grateful to the WA Government for investing in local frontline emergency services.

“SES volunteers are unsung heroes who go above and beyond when times get tough, whether it’s a storm, a rescue, a bushfire or a search for a missing person,” Mayor Irwin said.

“Having two smaller, separate premises was not suitable for a busy SES unit that does so much for our community.

“This has been a long time coming but we’re really pleased that Stirling SES will now have the level of modern facility they deserve.”
