Reconciliation in the City of Stirling

Reconciliation in the City of Stirling
09 September 2024

The City is developing its fourth Reconciliation Action Plan.

The City is developing its fourth Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and we want to hear what’s important to you. Through the Dandjoo Wangkiny (Together Talking) engagement process, community members are asked to share their insights and ideas to help shape the new RAP.

Building on previous achievements, our next ‘Innovate’ RAP will aim to:

  • Strengthen relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait  Islander peoples
  • Enhance understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and experiences.
  • Ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have equal access to opportunities.

All community members are invited to get involved and have their say. Dandjoo Wangkiny includes a range of opportunities until October for everyone to share their perspectives, including an Elders yarning circle, community workshop, pop-up enagements at local events and libraries, and art activities for children and young people.

How you can participate:

  • Complete the short online survey
  • Attend our Community Workshop on Saturday 5 October
  • Join the RAP Working Group
  • Come have a yarn at one of our local pop-up events.
