Dive in
Soak up the last of the summer sun at Scarborough Beach Pool. Enjoy a geothermally heated swim in the kids' pool, complete with a gently sloped entry, playful fountains, and a waist-height deep end. The 50m outdoor lap pool is surrounded by a grassy area with protective pine trees for shade—perfect for a picnic. And don't forget to grab a barista coffee, a delicious bite, or a post-swim ice-cream at Zoie Café.
Get amongst nature
Explore the great outdoors with a walk through the bushland trails at Lake Gwelup, Herdsman Lake, Trigg Bushland Reserve, or Star Swamp Bushland. For an educational spin on your outing, check out the Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre, which offers weekly nature and wildlife playgroups, family nature days, and features an onsite café. Or embark on the new 2.km long, accessible and interpretive Lake Gwelup Story Trail.
Something different
All aboard the Stirling Miniature Railway in Balcatta! This family favourite offers a charming railway experience that loops around the park, complete with tunnels and bridge crossings. Pack a picnic and enjoy an affordable ($12 for adults, $6 for children aged 2-17 years, $1 for children under two years) day out, with sessions available over the school holidays and the last Sunday of every month. Bookings are highly recommended, so don't miss out!
