Upcoming temporary closure of Cape Street to Albert Street for road works
The Cape Street intersection, from the on-ramp to Albert Street, will be temporarily closed.
The Cape Street intersection, from the on-ramp to Albert Street, will be temporarily closed from 9.00am – 5.00pm on Tuesday 26 November and Wednesday 27 November. This closure is due to road surfacing works as part of the final civil stages of the Smart Freeway Mitchell Southbound Project.
Profiling and asphalting will take place on one side of the road one day, and swap to the other side the following day. To avoid disruption, it is essential that no vehicles are parked on this section of Cape Street before or during the works.
The scheduled works are as follows:
- Tuesday 26 November: Profiling and asphalting of the westbound road from Albert Street to Hutton Street on-ramp
- Wednesday 27 November: Profiling and asphalting of the eastbound road from Hutton Street on-ramp to the Albert Street roundabout.
Every effort will be made to minimise disruptions to residents, although some noise and vibration may occur. These works are subject to weather conditions and contractor availability and may be postponed if necessary.
