Improvements to the Carine Fenced Dog Park have been made to stay within the budgeted scope

Carine Fenced Dog Park works are due to commence on Wednesday 22 May. For reasons of health and safety, the fenced dog park will be closed while construction takes place. Works are scheduled to be completed by August 2024.

Some changes have been made to align with the budgeted scope. The revised design will remove the steepest section of the embankment from the dog park, and include a new staircase and universal access path.

The primary design change involves shifting the dog park entries slightly higher up the embankment than previously proposed; this has enabled the sand pit within the smaller enclosure to remain in its current position under the shade of trees. Other changes include a reduction in the extent of new paving, walls, stairs and planting.

The small enclosure will still be extended toward the bottom of the embankment, however, the extension of the larger enclosure is on hold and will be reviewed for future budgets.
