The City’s Business Local initiative is designed to bring local Business Owners together, to identify local shared priorities, chat about local needs and deepen connections.

Last year, the City’s Local Convos series gathered the community to discuss local needs, build connections, and set priorities.

We are excited to continue the conversation in 2025 by hosting Business Convos across the City. As a part of the process, we are inviting local community groups along to the conversation to connect and share ideas on how we can activate these key bump-in spaces together.

The City’s local engagement team takes responsibility for listening to business owners about what is important and tapping into local knowledge on matters of strategic importance by:

  • Enabling Businesses to share local knowledge and experiences with the City of Stirling.

  • Host two-way conversation with the City to identify local shared priorities.

  • Enabling Businesses an opportunity to meet and strengthen relationships with each other.

FAQs

Last year, the City’s Local Convos series brought the community together to discuss local needs, build connections, and set priorities.

Through this initiative, locals helped identify key local centres that were a top priority for their suburb. To address these local priorities, Business Convos will be hosted in these local centres to facilitate knowledge sharing and identify shared priorities.

The local centres identified during the Local Convos series include:

  • Main Street, Osborne Park: "Encourage more social, food, and entertainment businesses to open on Main St precinct. Make this a pleasant hub for residents to spend time."
  • Dianella Plaza, Dianella: "Improve Dianella Plaza and the surrounding vacant land."
  • Morris Place, Innaloo: "Make the Morris Place shops a nicer shopping precinct." "Improve antisocial behaviour at Morris Place shops and surrounding areas."

As part of this initiative, we are keen to hear from as many business owners as possible. Your input will directly shape the key priorities for your local centre.

After each Business Convo, businesses will be directly contacted with the outcomes of the Convo and the next steps.
