Parking FAQs

The City of Stirling is enhancing the way parking is provided, regulated, and managed in areas with high parking demand by implementing paid parking. This approach ensures that the costs of providing parking facilities and services are shared by the motorists who use them, rather than being solely borne by the City’s ratepayers.

In a significant move towards sustainability, the City has downsized its parking meter fleet and adopted more eco-friendly parking management solutions. These include the introduction of pay-by-plate parking meters, which eliminate the need for physical tickets, and the increased use of the EasyPark pay-by-phone app.

  • Better utilisation of on-site private parking
  • Increased public transport use
  • Improved vehicle turnover within public car parking areas
  • Removal of commuters who travel to other work locations
  • Improved customer parking opportunities within close proximity to businesses.

  • Parking can be paid for by credit card/PayPass (Visa Card or Master Card with minimum $2.00 spend)
  • EasyPark pay by phone
  • American Express is not accepted
  • Parking meters do not give change or accept cash.

Yes, there are still several areas where parking is free, although other restrictions may apply. 'First hour free' applies in some paid parking areas within the City (one hour per vehicle per day) and will automatically be applied when using the parking meter and via the EasyPark app. Please check the parking signage specific to each area.

Motorcycle bays are free.

  • Use another parking meter in the same zone if available
  • Use the EasyPark app
  • Report the issue to the City of Stirling team on (08) 9205 8555.

For assistance with EasyPark payments please visit the EasyPark website or contact EasyPark on the details below:

Motorcycle drivers can park in a motorcycle bay or a regular parking bay. Motorcycles may park for free within a motorcycle bay in the City's paid parking areas.

  • Make sure you are on the ‘History’ tab, then select the session you would like a receipt for.
  • At the bottom of the screen, press ‘Send receipt to email.’

If you paid at a Parking Meter:

  • Go to myparkingticket.com.au.
  • Select ‘Search by: Licence plate no.’
  • Enter your licence plate number and the date of your parking session, complete the reCAPTCHA, then click ‘Submit.’

Pay by plate technology uses your vehicle’s licence plate number to record your parking time and payment.

Some of the benefits of this technology are:

  • Improved sustainability by eliminating unnecessary paper waste which was previously created by physical tickets being printed
  • Integration with our vehicle-mounted Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras enable City officers to monitor compliance in paid parking areas more efficiently. It is critical that your vehicle licence plate details are entered correctly to avoid receiving an infringement
  • Handy tip – Snap a photo of your licence plate with your phone so that you don't forget it at the parking meter!

No, the City’s parking meters do not have the facility to accept cash. The City made the decision to move to a cashless model to reduce the significant costs associated with coin operated parking meters.

No. Parking meters have only been installed in short-term parking areas and will not accept all-day parking sessions. To park in an all-day area you must use the EasyPark app to commence a parking session.
