Entry statements project moves ahead

The installation of new Entry Statements at key locations across the City of Stirling has commenced.
Five ageing structures that have reached end-of-life are being replaced, while four new structures are also being installed. Each Entry Statement features a different colour palette and iconography based on designs from local Nyoongar artist, Seantelle Walsh, to reflect native flora and fauna from the local area.
The nine Entry Statement locations include:
- Marmion Avenue, south of Beach Road, Carine (replacement)
- Wanneroo Road, south of Beach Road, Balga (replacement)
- Alexander Drive / Beach Road intersection, Mirrabooka (replacement)
- Morley Drive, west of Wellington Road, Dianella (replacement)
- West Coast Highway, north of Peasholm Street, Scarborough (replacement)
- Pearson Street, north of Campus Way, Churchlands (new)
- Jon Sanders Drive / Harborne Street intersection, Glendalough (new)
- Alexander Drive, north of Melrose Crescent, Menora (new)
- Beaufort Street, north of Crawford Road, Inglewood (new)
These contemporary Entry Statements aim to create a sense of place and welcome both residents and visitors alike. While purposefully positioned at prominent entry points to our City they are also located in close proximity to key attractions and destinations such as Scarborough Beach, Beaufort Street, Star Swamp Bushland Reserve and Herdsman Lake.
Funding was allocated for this project in the City’s 2023/24 budget with each Entry Statement costing approximately $40,000 inclusive of design, Main Roads approvals, fabrication, installation (including traffic management) and removal/disposal of existing structures.
The new Entry Statements are being installed over a number of weeks with completion expected by mid-April 2024.
