The City is proposing upgrades to the Okely Rd playground at Carine Regional Open Space.
The City places a high value on play opportunities for children and is committed to providing a range of quality, well-maintained play equipment for children to enjoy.
The existing Okely Rd playground is due for renewal and an upgrade to a community parkland, similar in scale to the one at Charles Riley Reserve is proposed. The upgrade will consider the following elements:
- A new playground
- Basketball shooting area improvements
- New/improvements to the picnic facilities
- Investigation of pedestrian access (including accessibility) throughout the area
The City believes that playgrounds should cater to the needs of its local community and sought to understand how the current playground area was being utilised.
The consultation report is available below and will help to inform the upgrade design process.
