Take a journey into pre-industrial woodcraft. For centuries, spoons were carved from green wood fresh off the tree. Learn to use axes, sloyd knives, hook knives and other traditional techniques to craft your spoon like your ancestors did.

This workshop provides a great opportunity to begin a woodworking journey of discovery. No prior woodworking experience necessary. Even if you are a seasoned woodworker, there are always new things to learn and experience. Warning! Spoon carving is known to become quite addictive!

A workshop for women of all ages, including girls aged from 12 years. Sturdy shoes that cover the whole foot must be worn.

The Stirling Women's Shed is an exciting partnership between The City of Stirling and The Joy of Wood.
