The City is seeking community feedback on recreational improvements for La Grange Dongara Reserve. Share your suggestions on what needs to be improved.
La Grange Dongara Reserve in Innaloo is a valued community open that space that features a sports oval, a playground, and open spaces for casual recreation and kick-about areas. The reserve also provides a large hit-up wall, picnic shelters, seating, partial reserve lighting, a barbecue, and a drink fountain. It’s a popular spot for dog walkers and hosts junior cricket in the summer.
With the ongoing and forecast growth of Innaloo, the demand for sporting, recreational, and nature opportunities in the area is increasing. To cater to the future needs of the community, La Grange Dongara Reserve has been identified for enhancements aimed at providing improved recreational opportunities for the community.
The City is keen to gather your input on how we can upgrade this space to better meet the community’s future needs. We invite your suggestions for potential recreational improvements. A range of feedback options are available, including email, surveys, and a community drop-in session. We look forward to hearing your ideas and working towards creating a space that everyone can enjoy.

FAQs
In response to a Notice of Motion from Councillor Proud, an assessment of the current public open space in Innaloo was undertaken to determine where improvements may be required. La Grange Dongara Reserve was identified as needing improvements.
La Grange Dongara Reserve is a highly valued large community open space. Whilst it has a range of park infrastructure such as a barbecue, seating, shelters and sporting oval, the City is keen to understand whether the current amenities are still valued.
The City has received previous requests from the community to improve the recreational value of this reserve and is now seeking local communities' feedback on what improvements should be considered.
The reserve already has several different amenities including seating, barbecue and picnic shelter, partial lighting, large hit up wall, playground, oval for sport and recreation. Recent feedback on improvements includes considering a connecting path around the reserve, considering the need for the hit-up practice wall, improving the current seating and shade shelters along with changing the playground sand pit, planting more trees and looking at the lighting. The City is keen to gain as much feedback from the local community about what you would like to see in your local park.
Check out the 'How can I get involved' FAQ below for how you can provide your ideas.
These are the top local priorities you've told us about what's important for Innaloo at the recent Innaloo Local Convo.
- Crime prevention - "Crime and drugs. There has been an increase in crime, mostly car thefts, open drug deals in the local parks, drugged out people at Morris Place. We need more investment in the community and infrastructure to deter this activity and behaviour."
- Local centres - "Make the Morris Place shops a nicer shopping precinct." "Improve antisocial behaviour at Morris Place shops and surrounding areas."
- Road and traffic management - "Start making developers provide more parking at private dwellings so that there are less cars parked on the streets blocking line of sight."
- Road and traffic management - "Traffic on Muir St towards Karrinyup Rd and the intersection."
- Parking - "Parking. With houses being knocked down and 3 or 4 units going up on the same block, streets are overcrowded with cars."
