It is also home to the Mirrabooka Friday Market (formerly the Balga Friday Market), a volunteer-run outdoor market held at Mirrabooka Open Space. The markets have been operating for 47 years with all profits reinvested back into local sports, schools, community and senior groups, as well as special events to support the Telethon Institute. Market sellers offer a huge variety of new and second-hand items including homewares, clothing, plants and tools. There are a variety of fresh produce, along with numerous food and beverage choices.
