New mural complete at Balga Plaza
The City of Stirling is proud to announce the completion of a vibrant mural at Balga Plaza.
The City of Stirling is proud to announce the completion of a vibrant mural at Balga Plaza, celebrating the rich culture, history and diversity of the Balga community.
The new artwork was commissioned by the City as part of a broader initiative to revitalise the local centre though beautification and increased amenity. The mural complements the State Government-funded verge upgrade next to the centre along Princess Road and Balga Avenue.
Artists Lawry Halden and Rubeun Yorkshire collaborated on this impactful artwork. The joyful concept draws inspiration from Rubeun’s love for the Balga community as a long-time local and proud Nyoongar man. Commissioned under the City’s Public Art Masterplan, the mural is a colourful tapestry that weaves together the many stories of Balga, reflecting the strength and unity of the community.
The City of Stirling invites all residents and visitors to Balga Plaza to experience this beautiful piece of art and celebrate the stories and history it represents. The mural not only enhances the visual appeal of the area but also serves as a reminder of the community’s shared heritage and vibrant spirit.
